Ankle Pain Treatment in McKinney

A sore ankle can affect more than your morning walk or workout. When every step hurts, you may start walking differently, avoiding certain activities or putting more weight on the other side without even realizing it. Before long, getting through an ordinary day can feel like more work than usual.

At Craig Ranch Chiropractic, we see ankle and foot concerns ranging from recent sprains to ongoing problems such as plantar fasciitis. Our approach starts with looking at how your foot is functioning and what may be behind your symptoms.

When Ankle Pain Makes Every Step Harder

Ankle sprains and plantar fasciitis are two common concerns we see. Patients may arrive with swelling, stiffness and difficulty walking, especially after an injury that never seemed to fully settle down.

When your foot or ankle hurts, you may also change the way you walk to avoid the painful area. These changes can affect movement elsewhere in the body and may aggravate existing knee or low back discomfort.

Looking Beyond the Sore Ankle

Sometimes there’s an obvious reason for ankle pain, such as rolling an ankle during a game or workout. Other times, foot mechanics may be part of the picture.

We often see active patients who also have flat or pronated feet, meaning the foot tends to roll inward when standing or walking. Understanding how your feet function can provide useful information when determining what may be placing additional stress on the ankle.

Taking a 3D Look at Your Feet

During your evaluation, Dr. Allam uses 3D foot scanning to get a detailed view of your feet and arches. This helps us assess how the arches are functioning and identify findings that may be relevant to your ankle or foot symptoms.

Rather than looking only at the painful area, the evaluation considers how the foot is working as a whole. Your findings help guide recommendations for care based on your individual needs.

Addressing How Your Foot Functions

Care may focus on improving foot and ankle function and addressing inflammation or irritation associated with your symptoms. Depending on what the evaluation finds, recommendations may also include ways to provide additional support for the foot and ankle.

The goal is to address factors identified during your assessment rather than simply focusing on temporary discomfort.

Getting Back to Easier Movement

Patients often come to us because they want to walk, exercise or get through everyday activities with less pain. Your symptoms and function can be reassessed over time to see how you’re responding and whether your care needs to be adjusted.

Still Bothered by an Old Ankle Injury?

An ankle that never seemed to recover fully is worth another look. A 3D foot scan can provide additional information about how your feet and arches are functioning and help determine what care or support may be appropriate.
